Lipids and Cardiovascular Health
Humans all over the world get energy from food they eat. Fats are the greatest source of food energy compared with carbohydrates and proteins. However, the types of fats human eat have implications for their overall health. This course introduces learners to types of fatty acids and fatty acid structure. The considerations that go into the nomenclature of fatty acids are also discussed.
By the end of this topic participants will be able to determine the characteristics of lipids and how its components are associated with overall health
